"Understand the Internet Sales Process"

Web Design and eBusiness Marketing Tip # 6

Web Marketing Tip # 6 - Understand the Internet Sales Process!

Building trust and rapport in the traditional business world is built by major corporations with advertising, brand building, promotion, public relations, sponsorships, foundations, and grants. Some major corporations spend billions of dollars every year, to build trust and rapport with you and me or the general public. Unless you have deep pockets, you will need to build confidence and later support, from your site visitors in other ways. One of the most effective ways to develop believability, confidence, and later support from your site visitors is to offer some information of value to your target audience or ideal customers. Usually this is done with free newsletters, reports, or e-books. More recently, it is done even more effectively with free special events like webinars, web casts, and tele-courses.

When you share your expertise for free with your subscribers, site visitors, or prospects they get to know that you are a consistent business person with whom they can do business. Furthermore, it shows them that you are also concerned about them and their business in that you are willing to share free information with them. The most important thing you have to realize is that you have to offer something for free that is of genuine value. Develop something that would be worth paying for and offer it for free. Since free newsletters, reports, and e-books are becoming common place, you may want to incorporate live events like tele-courses.

Live events like tele-courses and web casts are great because their purpose is twofold: 1. to provide your prospects, customers, and subscribers with valuable content; 2. to help you to develop products to sell. Plus teleconferencing is even more valuable in many respects than newsletters, reports, and e-books, because it is more interactive. I love doing teleconferencing because attendees get a chance to ask specific questions about their personal business. Many times in tele-courses you learn from the attendees and they learn from you. It is a win-win situation for every body involved.

Hot Tip: I offer two FREE tele-courses in Internet Marketing: check out How to Transform Your Web Site into a Viable Ebusiness Click Here, or sign up for the Tao of Search Engine Promotion Click Here.

Don't be concerned with selling directly during the tele-courses, or within the free newsletters, special reports, and e-books. If people are interested in your services they will contact you. You can start to make offers, about your products and services, after you have contacted your prospects after 6 to 10 times. This is because after 6 - 10 times they are more familiar with your business.

Remember whether you use search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, ezine advertising, or off-line advertising to drive traffic to your site, try to offer something free of great value to get email addresses. Then you can get them to subscribe ezine, newsletter, or an RSS feed, because this is usually the beginning of the sales process. We will explain in a later tip the best way to get people to accept your free offer.
